Our History
We’re absolutely delighted to extend a warm welcome to you at Maison, our luxury five-star self-catering accommodation nestled along the picturesque banks of the River Bush.
Bushmills has been our home for many years, having developed both the Bushmills Inn Hotel and The French Rooms restaurant.
We live close by and are voluntarily involved in many aspects of the Bushmills village community and feel very passionate about unlocking the full potential of this charming location.
Maison's History
We purchased the property in 1999 as part of the Bushmills Inn Hotel and Restaurant. Originally it was home to our seasonal staff, mostly French students who came to work the summer season in Bushmills.
As time passed, we embarked on an ambitious project in 2018 to completely renovate the property.
The renovations involved significant changes, such as removing the main staircase and creating an open-plan layout on the ground, first, and second floors, creating two spacious and luxurious guest suites.
Our inspiration for this transformation came from our profound love for France and extensive travels to places like the enchanting Western Cape in South Africa. And we want to provide that French flavour to our visitors.
Maison's Inspiration
Like Northern Ireland, the Western Cape thrived with the arrival of the French Huguenots in the 18th century.
We witnessed firsthand the French-influenced ambience in charming villages such as Franschhoek, which stirred our imagination and led us to envision a similar experience in Bushmills.
Our passion for travel and exploration persists, and we cherish unique and character-filled accommodations during our journeys.
We aspire to extend that very same feeling to our esteemed guests, providing you with an unforgettable and delightful experience.
